Disney + is officially launching Star in select international territories
After more than two months since its official announcement, Disney + has finally launched its newest content hub called Star, expanding the already loaded collection of content from the growing streaming service from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars to National Geographic. The Star brand, geared towards more adult entertainment, is now available in select international areas including Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Europe. Meanwhile, Disney + launched Star Today as the first store with the new general entertainment brand.

Star is fully integrated with Disney + in the aforementioned markets and has its own branded site with a robust collection of general entertainment films, television, documentaries and more, as well as exclusive Star-branded originals and local productions created for this service.
In addition, Disney + added new parental controls as part of the Star roll-out, including the ability to restrict access to content for specific profiles based on content ratings and add a PIN to block profiles with access to mature content.

The Star brand is home to thousands of hours of films and shows from Disney General Entertainment Content, including Disney Television Studios (ABC Signature and 20th Television), FX Productions, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, and more.
From comedies to dramas and thrillers, Star has a range of titles to suit everyone and mood, including fan-favorite TV series like Grey’s anatomy, 24, X-Files, Lost and family Guy. Acclaimed comedies like FX’s Atlanta, ABC’s black, and Hulus Dollface and Shonda Rhimes’ political drama Scandal are now available for subscribers to view. Plus, award-winning films like The favourite and The Grand Budapest Hotelalong with classics like Pretty Woman, Die hard 2, The devil Wears Prada, and red mill, stream all from Star on Disney + now.
Star also ships brand new originals from Disney Television Studios to international markets. By the end of the first year, more than 35 first series should have premieres. Titles now streamed in select markets include: David E. Kelley’s crime thriller Big sky;; Hulu’s Love, Simon spin-off series Lots of love, Victor;; and the animated sitcom for adults Solar opposites by Justin Roiland. Accessibility of titles varies by region.

Disney + with Star will continue its global rollout later this year in Eastern Europe, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea. Star + is expected to be launched as a separate streaming platform in Latin America.
