Meghan Markle’s ‘Suits’ dad, Wendell Pierce, shares why he doesn’t sweat the hate the duchess gets

“Suits” star Wendell Pierce isn’t worried about all the trolling his TV daughter Meghan Markle receives.

“The thing about it is, I know she has [Prince] Harry, right?” the actor told Page Six exclusively at the National Board of Review Annual Gala on Thursday night.

“And of course the beautiful kids,” he added, referencing Markle and Harry’s children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

“That’s the most important thing,” he opined. “So, all the other … everything else is just … outside of that means nothing, you know?”

Pierce, 60, played Markle’s father, Robert Zane, on “Suits” and is still close to the actress-turned-duchess whom he caught up with “a couple of months ago when she received an award.”

“The Wire” star shared that he saw both Markle and Harry and “it was great.”

When asked what they talked about, he told us, “You know, just touch base and remind her that no matter where they are in the world, I’m their friend. I love her.”

The “Treme” alum added that he knows Markle lives in somewhat of a bubble, “so it’s always good to know, no matter what you’re going through, that friends are there for you.”

The series has enjoyed a huge renaissance after being made available to stream on Netflix last year.

It was watched over 3 billion times after its debut, surpassing previous record-holders.

The Duchess of Sussex confessed to having “no idea” why the show had such a resurgence.

“It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit,” she gushed on a red carpet in November 2022.

“But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”

Earlier this week, fans of the show were thrilled to see four of its stars — Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres — reunited at the 2024 Golden Globes, as they presented the cast of “Succession” with the award for Best Drama Series.

Page Six exclusively reported that Markle had been asked to join the mini-reunion but declined.

“We asked the duchess, but we were told that, unfortunately, she had a previous commitment,” a Globes insider told us.

Pierce wasn’t the only bold-faced name at the gala last night. Daniel Day-Lewis, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway and “The Holdovers” star Da’Vine Joy Randolph were all on hand.

Pierce was there to present his longtime pal Michael J. Fox with the Best Documentary Award for his film “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie.”
