Billionaire John Paulson’s much-younger girlfriend was once arrested for DUI after crashing her car into a house’s yard.
Butler, NJ, police arrested Alina de Almeida on March 13, 2018, after she “lost control” of her BMW while attempting to make a right-hand turn, the police report, obtained by Page Six exclusively, states.
While interviewing de Almeida about the crash, which caused “severe” damage to her vehicle, the responding officer noted “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” emanating from the fitness guru, who admitted she had just come from Jigg’s bar.
Matthew Peteroy, her passenger who was once arrested on burglary charges, claimed de Almeida was driving him home from the bar, which is where he worked.
The officer requested de Almeida, who was 29 years old at the time, submit to multiple field sobriety tests, which revealed she appeared to be “impaired by alcohol over the legal limit,” so she was arrested, the report states.
Once handcuffed and at the police station, an Alco-test revealed de Almeida’s blood alcohol content was 0.16 — double the legal limit.

De Almeida was released to her father’s custody and cited with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and unclear plates.
She pleaded guilty in the fall of 2018, had her license suspended for seven months and had to attend 12 hours of alcohol school, records show.
The Effective Lifestyle founder didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
The registered dietitian, now 35, seemingly has turned over a new leaf since her brief time behind bars, as she now doles out wellness tips to those who want to eat healthily without sacrificing their social lives.
“A perfect example occurred over the course of a divine French meal at Le Bilboquet,” she told Palm Beach magazine Palmer of the famous Upper East Side bistro.
“On the menu that evening was a La Salade Bilboquet to start, and I opted for their signature lemon dressing on the side [instead of] the heavy Roquefort.”
De Almeida has been romantically involved with 68-year-old Paulson, who is involved in his own legal troubles, since 2021 when he left his wife of 21 years, Jenny, for the Instagram influencer.
“Unfortunately our marriage didn’t work out. Divorces are common, but difficult,” Paulson told Page Six in 2022.
“Alina and I are very happy together. I wish Jenny can find happiness, too.”
