Christina Applegate watched ‘RHONY’ while getting ready for ‘overwhelming’ Emmys 2024 appearance

Christina Applegate turned to reality TV to help her prepare for her “overwhelming” surprise appearance at the Emmys 2024 over the weekend.

The actress’ hairstylist, Adir Abergel, revealed that he and his client had fun watching a hit Bravo show before the “Dead to Me” alum stepped on stage.

“We were chilling, laughing and watching ‘Real Housewives of New York,’” he told People. “It was like catching up with my best friend.”

Abergel — who has previously worked with Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon and many more stars — said he and Applegate, 52, prepped at her home and backstage at the Emmys, which took place at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles Monday night.

“Getting ready for big events can be overwhelming. I focused on being present and enjoyed every moment together,” he told the outlet.

“We were having fun! Christina and I have been friends for a long time and she is someone that I love deeply. Showing up for her on that night was very important to me.”

“Thank you so much. Oh my God. You’re totally shaming me with the disability by standing up. Body not by Ozempic,” she quipped, poking fun at the Type 2 diabetes drug that celebrities take to lose weight.

“Some of you may know me as Kelly Bundy from ‘Married… With Children’ … we don’t have to applaud every time I do something,” she continued.

Applegate’s appearance came as a total shock to everyone, as she previously said that the 2023 SAG Awards would likely be her “last award show as an actor” due to her ongoing illness.

She also previously said “Dead to Me” would likely be her final acting gig due to her battle with MS.
